Analysis of the Relationship between HbA1c and Serum IGF-1 Levels in Patients with T2DM

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is characterized by the reduced ability of insulin responses, leading to difficulty in processing blood sugar. It caused a combination two main factors: damaged secretion pancreatic beta-cells and inability insulin-sensitive tissues respond insulin. Blood sugar monitoring T2DM done measuring glycated hemoglobin or Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). Insulin Like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) primary mediator growth hormone known play pivotal biological role metabolism. This study aims analyze relationship between HbA1c levels serum IGF-1 patients. The method used was observational analytic with cross-sectional design. There were 60 patients involved as research subjects consisting 26 males 34 females. examination carried out using Boronete Affinity Assay, while performed Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) sandwich method. statistical analysis results showed that average value standard deviation controlled higher (5740.23±4320.60 pg/mL) than uncontrolled (4843.18±3375.63 pg/mL), no significant difference (p=0.462) correlation (r=-0.005 p=0.972). concluded there T2DM.
